City Council closer to requiring bear-proof trash cans on west side

The Colorado Springs City Council will make the final vote today that mandates bear-proof cans for residents on the west side of the city. The Council voted unanimously Oct. 8 to require the trash cans, which helped move this ordinance forward.

State of homeless shelters in Pueblo, Colorado Springs

As more wintry weather is expected to hit the Pikes Peak region this week it could mean dangerous conditions for homeless people. A couple weeks ago, the Springs Rescue Mission welcomed almost 500 people inside its doors when a cold blast came through.

Pueblo Coroner's office released ID of woman found slain in Pueblo dumpster

The Coroner says the deceased woman is 58-year old Maria Agnes Cuevas-Garcia. While her identity is being released, details about how she died are currently unavailable pending the completion of the woman's autopsy.

Sexually Violent Predator moves to Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department is alerting residents of a Sexually Violent Predator who moved to the city. 30-year-old Shane Worth Poteet is out on parole and moved to East Platte Avenue.
