It’s 2018 Colorado Primary Election day. If you didn’t get your ballot mailed in time, you can drop it off at locations in your county. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in order to be counted.

Remember, if you are an unaffiliated voter in Colorado you should only use one ballot – for the Republican or Democratic party – otherwise if you send in both ballots your vote will not count.

A quick note from Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams. If you just happen to have your ballot in a county other than the one where you reside, you can still drop it off at an official location for ANY county and they’ll make sure it counts.

As of Monday morning, the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office reports a primary record of 86,000+ ballots have been returned. The breakdown is roughly 47,000 Republican ballots, 22,000 Democrat ballots, and 19,000 unaffiliated voter ballots. The split for those returned unaffiliated ballots is 58% voting in the Republican primary and 42% voting in the Democrat primary.

The Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder’s Officer reports returned ballots from 9,799 Democrats, 5,343 Republicans, and 3,026 unaffiliated voters. The split for unaffiliated voters is 1,442 Democrat ballots and 1,190 Republican ballots returned as of Monday morning.
