WOODLAND PARK – The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park has a new guest, a Bald Eagle that arrived needing some medical attention during Presidents Day.
Volunteers delivering the bird of prey report that the eagle was unable to fly at the time they brought it in.
According to the clinic, exams have revealed no bone fractures and no indications of an underlying chronic disease.
“I’m hoping that if it is just bruising, that the recovery should be fairly quick,” stated Theresa Collins of the clinic.
The clinic has plans to release the eagle into the care of the Pueblo Raptor Center as early as Wednesday.
From there, the clinic hopes to see the eagle released back into Eleven Mile Canyon in about a month.
