Springs Rescue Mission traffic up as other locations close

and last updated

Leaders from the Springs Rescue Mission say over the last few nights they have been filling up as other places are shutting down.

While the Rescue Mission remains open for business, the staff is struggling.

They've recently seen at 140% increase in people needing a place to stay during the day, as many of the restaurants and other gathering places they normally go are closed.

"We are doing everything we can to keep people safe and manage social distancing, and health, but it is definitely a real challenge," said Travis Williams from the Rescue Mission.

While donations will help, Williams says the biggest task at hand now is educating clients on the importance of safety and good hygiene.
