COLORADO SPRINGS- For many young kids, the idea of being a police officer is enough to make their eyes light up.

Saturday morning, hundreds of kids and their parents filled the Police Operations Center to learn about the Colorado Springs Police Department, namely the K-9 officers.

‘I really like dogs and I wanted to learn how they track things down and…stuff,’ said Davis Feffer, who showed up with his parents to Saturday’s event.

‘They always follow you around and sometimes they jump on you when you come inside the door and they’re really friendly,’ said Feffer.

Feffer says he wants to be a Marine when we grows up, but says he learned a lot at Saturday’s session.

If you missed Saturday’s session and you’d still like the chance to attend- another ‘Connecting Kids & Cops’ event is scheduled for March 2nd, where the seminar will be focused on police uniforms and patrol cars.

There are separate session for kids age 5-10 and kids aged 10-15.
