Pueblo Police arrest 17-year-old shooting suspect in connection to deadly shooting

PUEBLO – Pueblo Police announced the suspect they questioned Thursday night in connection to the shooting of a 17-year-old boy has been arrested.

The suspect, also 17 years old, is being held on juvenile possession of a firearm. Police said additional charges are still being considered.

It all started around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when officers were called to Parkview Medical Center. The victim showed up at the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting happened during a fight near a parking lot at Runyon Lake. Officers said the shooting happened as a result of “a disturbance between parties in two separate vehicles.”

The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police say the death is being investigated as a homicide. The boy’s identity and the suspect’s identity have not been released.

Police said this is Pueblo’s ninth homicide of 2018.
