Today’s Forecast:
Hot again today, over 5 degrees above average. The I-25 corridor into the Plains will see many 90s, with 70s and 80s in the mountains. A sunny start will be met with a mostly sunny afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are possible today, with most of the activity in high terrain. A few evening thunderstorms are possible along I-25, but will dissipate before heading too far east into the Plains.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 91; Low - 60. Expect to be sunny and hot for the bulk of the day. An air quality alert is in place until 4 pm for increased ozone levels. Try to limit driving today, and those with lung sensitivity should stay inside as much as possible. An evening thunderstorm is possible near dinner time. Gusty winds and lightning is possible in rain activity this evening.

PUEBLO: High - 97; Low - 64. Hot again today, but staying out of the triple digits for now. The afternoon will be sunny and dry, so stay hydrated. A pool day is a great idea, but watch for a thunderstorm in the early evening. Storms will have minimal impacts today.

CANON CITY: High - 94; Low - 65. Mountain valleys in general have a better chance at seeing rain today. Canon City will be hot, to the mid 90s with a clear start. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible, staying non-severe.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 81; Low - 53. A beautiful day is ahead, with temperatures reaching the low 80s. Enjoy the summer warmth! Watch for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm likely, any time after noon.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Warm today in the upper 80s for the Tri-lakes region. The sun will be out in full force, with an air quality alert in effect until 4 pm for increased ozone levels. In the late afternoon a thunderstorm is possible, with gusty winds and lightning.

PLAINS: High - 90/100s; Low - 60s. Hot and sunny today! Wear that sun protection because there won't be much relief from the heat. Any mountain showers that make their way off the front range will dissipate before making it too far into the Plains. Rain chances look better Sunday.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s/90s; Low - 50s/60s. Very warm today, upper 80s for Walsenburg and low 90s for Trinidad. The sky will stay mostly sunny all day. An afternoon thunderstorm is possible, but should be spotty with minimal impacts. We will continue to monitor the Spring burn scar this weekend for flash flood potential.

Extended Outlook:
Showers and thunderstorms become more widespread on Sunday afternoon after a sunny and hot start. The severe weather threat is very low tomorrow, but do watch for lightning. Monday will be the coolest day of next week, eventhough temperatures will still be above average. There is a chance of thunderstorms Monday evening. The rest of next week is trending very hot and dry!
