The long stretch of frigid weather settles in Friday

Tonight's Forecast:
A push of cold arctic air will push into the plains tonight, generally impacting areas north of HWY 50 in the plains. This shallow cold air will also bring clouds and fog. The mountains and southern I-25 corridor will stay in the 30s and 40s tomorrow.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 9; High: 19. Cloudy and cold Friday.

PUEBLO: Low: 10; High: 19. Cold with clouds on Friday.

CANON CITY: Low: 15; High: 27. Cold with mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions tomorrow.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 18; High: 35. Sheltered from the cold air on Friday with more sun during the day.

TRI-LAKES: Low: teens; High: 20s. Very cold with clouds all day.

PLAINS: Low: single digits; High: teens/20s. Very cold air moves in from the north overnight. Areas along and north of HWY 50s and near the Kansas state line will stay cold and cloudy all day.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: teens; High: 30s/40s. Not quite seeing the cold air mass yet with sunshine Friday.

MOUNTAINS: Low: teens; High: 30s/40s. Sheltered from the cold Friday with sunshine and above freezing temperatures.

Extended Outlook:
Saturday and Sunday become even colder and the mountains will see the subfreezing temperatures this weekend as well. Snow will increase Saturday night into Sunday. Monday morning will bring dangerous wind chills to the plains. See our in depth forecast on this cold weather here.
