A comfortable Sunday is in store, with slightly below average temperatures and clouds. A brief shower or thunderstorms is possible, but should be non-severe. Temperatures are trending 5 degrees below average.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 80; Low - 55. Today is starting with high clouds and temperatures will climb more today, to the low 80s. Mountain rain will increase cloud cover through the afternoon, and a brief shower is possible this evening. Tonight will be cloudy, dropping to the mid 50s by Monday morning.

PUEBLO: High - 86; Low - 59. A warm day is ahead, to the mid 80s. High clouds this morning will stick around, with increasing low clouds later today. A shower is possible this evening, with isolated lightning. Tonight will be partly cloudy, to the upper 50s.

CANON CITY: High - 84; Low - 60. Warm today, with an afternoon shower possible. Expect mid 80s under a partly sunny sky. Tonight will be mild, to 60 degrees with some clouds lingering.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 75; Low - 49. Comfortable today, reaching the mid 70s. Mountain showers are likely this afternoon, but will generally be hit or miss. Isolated lightning is possible. Tonight will be partly cloudy, to the upper 40s.

TRI-LAKES: High - 70s; Low - 50s. A nice day is ahead, with high temperatures in the 70s for the Tri-lakes region. A partly sunny sky is expected with a pop-up shower possible this afternoon and evening. Lighting and brief heavy rain will be the main hazards. Tonight will be cool, to the low 50s.

PLAINS: High - 80s; Low - 60s. Warm, but not scorching hot today. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s for La Junta and Lamar. The sky will be sunny with high clouds and trending mostly dry. Tonight will be mild, to the 60s with a chance of thunderstorms.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 70s/80s; Low - 50s. Upper 70s for Walsenburg, and low 80s in Trinidad under partly sunny conditions. An afternoon shower is possible, with lightning and brief heavy rain. The severe weather threat is low. Tonight will be partly cloudy, to the 50s.

Extended Outlook:
Monday will be warmer, to the 80s along the front range, 90s in the Plains, and 70s in the high country. An evening thunderstorm is possible tomorrow and will be the final push of energy from this weekend's unsettled weather. Tuesday is trending hot and dry for southern Colorado, so find a way to beat the heat! Wednesday through Friday next week is trending hot in the afternoon, with an evening thunderstorm possible.
