A (really) Good Friday leads to a Great Saturday!

Tonight’s Forecast:

An amazing Good Friday leads into a hard-to-believe Saturday. Skies will fade in the afternoon, but temps will challenge 80F in many cases, and for the Plains, could snuggle up near 90F!

Incredible for mid-April

Incredible for mid-April
By Sunday, disturbances in the Jet, to our northwest, will sink it southward. And over time, they will create a large storm nearly overhead Sunday into Monday. Think of it like a sinkhole in the atmosphere, developing nearly overhead. There will be no cold air nearby, so the moisture would be rain. It appears the timing for first raindrops is after 4pm Sunday for the Pike’s Peak Region, and north. It also appears there may be no rain south of Fountain…until early Monday. At that point, showers for all, on and off, day and night…lingering in to early Tuesday. (Snow at times overnights, into early mornings, for Teller and possibly Tri-Lakes.)

But once it dries up, the temperatures rise again in the late April sun.

COLORADO SPRINGS:  Low: 40, High 80. Clear tonight, sunny start Saturday, skies fade fast. Warm!

PUEBLO:  Low: 42, High: 85. Starry skies tonight, sunny side up Saturday till midday, then skies fade. Hot!

CANON CITY:  Low: 38, High: 83. Clear skies tonight. Sunny early Saturday, then increasing clouds. Warm!

TRI-LAKES:  Low: 34, High: 68. Clear and cool tonight, Sunny to start Saturday, fading fast by afternoon. Warm.

PLAINS:  Low: 44, High: 88. Tonight…clear. Saturday…sunny through midday, then clouds increase. Hot!

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD:  Low: 42, High: 82. Clear by night, sunny through lunchtime, clouds increase.

Extended Outlook: Stormy weather arrives, Teller and northern El Paso, Sunday after 2 & 4pm respectively. Then, keep the umbrella handy for Monday, Monday night, Tuesday morning. Obviously, way cooler while showers are around. After that, skies clear and temps recover to the 60s, 70s, and 80s by next Friday.
