Today’s Forecast:
A cold front passage this morning is going to bring gusty winds to I-25 and slowly push moisture up into the southern mountains through the afternoon. Most of I-25 is going to stay dry today, despite the fact that a stray shower or thunderstorm could fall, especially from Walsenburg to Trinidad in the afternoon. Parts of Monument and Colorado Springs could see rain today, but a lot of people will walk away with nothing while other, like downtown, will probably see showers. The best areas for rain will be in and along the southern mountains today from Pikes Peak to the Wet and Sangre De Cristo mountain ranges. Snow snow could get mixed in with rain for areas like Woodland Park, but no impact or accumulation is expected.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 60; Low – 36. Windy today with a stray late morning & afternoon showers possible. Dry air off the Palmer Divide will probably keep parts of town, especially the northern half, much drier.

PUEBLO: High – 68; Low – 39.  Mainly dry and windy today with mild temperatures. An isolated thundershower or sprinkle is possible but very unlikely.

CANON CITY: High – 64; Low – 36. Cloudy and mild with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible through the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 45; Low – 26. Cloudy, chilly and breezy with scattered showers at times mixed with snow from the late morning to the afternoon. Snow accumulation is not expected from this system.

TRI-LAKES: High – 50s; Low – 30s. Cloudy, windy and cold today with late morning and early afternoon isolated showers possible.

PLAINS: High – 60/70s; Low – 40s. Dry, mild and windy today with a mix of clouds and sunshine.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60s; Low – 30s. Windy and mild today with scattered showers possible from Walsenburg to Trinidad through the afternoon, although the best chances for moisture remain west of I-25 into the mountains.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
Thursday will be dry and very windy through the region, but there are no chances for rain and snow across southern Colorado. The best weather of the week will occur from Friday to Saturday with light winds, sunshine, and very warm temperatures. Rain is back in the forecast for Easter Sunday with more showers in the forecast on Monday.
