Today’s Forecast:
Stratus clouds will make the morning grey and gloomy across the lower elevations this morning. As the sun heats the air through the clouds, we’ll get them to burn off and the sky will brighten up after 10am. Temperatures will stay cool under the clouds this morning but they will get warm and beautiful with sunshine through the afternoon. There is a small chance for a stray shower in the Pikes Peak region later today, but the majority of southern Colorado will stay dry. Clear skies will stick around through the overnight hours with lows falling into the mid 50s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 79; Low – 54. Cloudy through the morning but sunny and warming after 10am. A stray shower is possible after 3pm but chances are much better we’ll stay dry.

PUEBLO: High – 84; Low – 56. Cloudy through the morning but sunny and warming after 9am. We should stay warm and dry through the afternoon.

CANON CITY: High – 83; Low – 58. Cloudy through the morning but sunny and warming after 8 to 9am. We should stay warm and dry through the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 74; Low – 48. Beautiful with some morning cloud cover but mostly sunny through the majority of the day. Chances are high we’ll stay dry through the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High – 70s; Low – 50s. Cloudy through the morning but sunny and warming after 10am. A stray shower is possible in the afternoon but chances for rain are best east and along the Palmer Divide.

PLAINS: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Cloud cover pulls away to the east this morning but we’ll have sunny and warm skies through the afternoon. Temps will be warmest towards Pueblo and cooler out towards the border.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Cloudy through the morning but sunny and warming after 9am. A stray shower off the Raton Mesa is possible but most along the southern I-25 corridor will stay dry.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Big time heat returns Thursday and Friday with highs soaring up towards 90 in Colorado Springs and mid to upper 90s for Pueblo to the plains. We’ll stay dry through the end of the week but spotty showers and thunderstorms now look likely through the weekend, especially Saturday afternoon.
