Today’s Forecast:
Well above average again with highs in the upper 80’s to near 100° for areas of the plains. Mostly sunny skies this morning with clouds building during the second half of the day. A few showers/storms will develop over the higher elevations early this afternoon and push east towards the plains. Some of these could become strong to severe, especially east of the interstate, with hail and strong winds. Activity ends overnight with lows in the 50’s and 60’s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 93; Low – 62. Another hot day with a few pm showers and storms.

PUEBLO: High – 99; Low – 65. Hot again with a chance for pm showers/storms.

CANON CITY: High – 97; Low – 65. Well above average with a few pm showers/storms.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 83; Low – 53. PM showers and storms with warm temperatures yet again.

TRI-LAKES: High – Near 90; Low – 50’s. A warm day with a few pm showers/storms.

PLAINS: High – Near 100; Low – 60’s. Hot today with a few late day/evening showers/storms. Some storms could be strong to severe.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 90’s; Low – 60’s. Another hot one with a few pm showers/storms.

WEEK AHEAD
A cold front passes to bring cooler temperatures and more moisture to Monday. Highs will only be in the 70’s and 80’s. We’ll have the best chance for widespread showers and storms that we’ll see all week. Temperature rebound into the 80’s to low 90’s for the rest of the week. It’s monsoon season and that means beyond Monday we’ll still have areas of showers/storms trying to develop over the higher elevations and push east each day, they’ll just be more isolated to scattered in nature. Any storms that develop this week could have heavy rain and move slowly so we’ll keep an eye on burn scars all week.
