SOUTHERN COLORADO — Week 5 of the Colorado high school football season ended with a bang on Saturday.

A slew of Southern Colorado teams were in action after a weak that saw plenty of schedule changes for our local teams.

In a match-up of undefeated teams at EchoPark, Legend was able to hold off Pine Creek, 21 to 20, after the Eagles missed an extra point in the final seconds of the game.

The Titans move to 5-0 with the win, while Pine Creek suffers their first loss of the year (2-1).

Down in Pueblo, Dutch Clarke Stadium hosted a double-header with Pueblo Eagles taking on Durango in the afternoon slot.

The Demons were too much for the Eagles, beating them 45 to 20.

The loss essentially eliminates Pueblo East from the playoffs (2-3).

In the nightcap, Lewis-Palmer was able to take down Pueblo Central, ___

The win pushed the Rangers over .500 (3-2), while the Wildcats fall to 1-4 on the season.

The Pueblo County Hornets also hosted a home game on Saturday with 3A southern conference opponent Pueblo Centennial.

The Bulldogs could not handle Pueblo County, falling 48 to 6.

With the win, the Hornets move to 3-2, while Centennial remains win-less.

At CA Foster Stadium, the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies put on a show against the Air Academy Kadets.

The Grizz blew past the Kadets, 65 to 0 for their first win of the season.

And finally, after a few schedule changes the Discovery Canyon Thunder hosted Niwot at Don Breese Stadium.

DCC brought the Thunder, shutting out the Cougars 54 to 0 to make back to over .500 (3-2).
