BRIDGEPORT, CT — A School Resource Officer in Connecticut chased down a driverless SUV that was rolling down a busy street as school was being let out earlier this week.
City surveillance video in Bridgeport shows the SUV start to roll down Boston Avenue Monday afternoon.
Police say there was someone in the passenger seat, and another person in the back seat, but no driver.
Officer Carlos Carmo, Jr., noticed the SUV rolling down the street and started chasing it. He eventually grabbed the passenger side door and stopped the vehicle by dragging his feet along the ground.
Carmo was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and released.
He was also recognized for his bravery, selflessness, and quick thinking.
