PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania couple could face charges after they allegedly beat a carjacking suspect so badly that he died.

A mother stopped at a pizza restaurant Thursday night to talk to her boyfriend. Police say she left the car running and a man drove off in it with her three children inside.

The children's father chased the vehicle down, and according to police he pulled the suspect from the car and started attacking the man.

Police say other men joined in.

"We are working on finding out who these other men were that also assaulted the individual that subsequently died," said Chief Inspector Scott Small from the Philadelphia Police Department. "We are trying to find out who those individuals are."

The carjacking suspect died at the hospital.
