COLORADO SPRINGS — Wednesday marks exactly one year until the start of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and Olympic City USA is already gearing up.

Early in the day, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Olympic and Paralympic Committees hosted a large event at Memorial Park at the intersection of Sports Drive and Pike Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs.

The event featured fun demonstrations by USA Wrestling, several mini-games for kids to get involved with, displays of gymnastic athleticism as well as an athlete meet and greet.

News 5 caught up with J'den Cox, an American wrestler who took home a bronze during the Rio Olympics.

I think it's awesome to share everything that you have, and not just keep it all in... Who knows? You might be inspiring the next Olympic gold medalist in whatever they choose to do by telling them what you've gone through and the amazing things you've gotten to see or witness. So, I'm excited to always share this and encourage people to reach for the stars and hopefully become the best that they can be.
