DILLON — The icy doors have opened wide and people are pouring through the frozen hallways and gazing upon the chilly parapets of the famous Ice Castles in Dillon.

Ice Castles is a frozen attraction — now in its third year in Dillon — created by professional ice artists who build structures using hundreds of thousands of icicles.

The cold construct is created by hand placing hundreds of thousands of icicles, generated on site at a rate of 10,000 per day during peak construction weeks.

According to site managers, some portions of the castle currently reach heights of about 30 feet but by the end of the season in march, there will be portions that tower closer to 50 feet in height.

This family friendly attraction welcomes guests to enjoy frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, fountains and more.

Management of the Dillon Ice Castles estimates that annually approximately 100,000 visitors cycle through the wintry attraction.

Adult tickets cost between $17-$21 for general admission. For more information, including parking, FAQs and more on ticket pricing, visit the Ice Castles website here.
