Black Forest Chew Chew chugs away to national TV

A recent development of the national TV variety could soon have a lot more people chugging alongside Black Forest Chew Chew (BFCC), a Colorado Springs-based food truck.

This gastro truck specializes in international street food, has an all-female crew, and recently applied, was accepted, and then competed in a Food Network TV show that will air October 18th.

The show, by the name of Food Truck Fan Fight, took five different food trucks from across the Rocky Mountains area and had them face off in a cooking showdown.

BFCC was the only truck to register and compete from the Colorado Springs area. When we spoke with the team about the experience, they let us know that it was an honor to represent their hometown and an experience to film with the Food network.

“First of all, there was so much lighting that they had to put in the truck and all the GoPro cameras,” commented Deanna Johnson, chef and owner of the BFCC.

“And then there were probably six big cameras set up,” continued Sarah Wynn, a crew member for the truck.

To catch this local team on the TV, be sure to tune into the Food Network at 9:00 pm on October 18th.

If you miss them there, however, you can always find their location schedule on their Facebook page and catch up with the team in person (and grab some tasty grub).
