EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — In case you missed it, a tornado touched down just north of Falcon at approximately 4:30 pm on Thursday, August 8, 2019.
The latest update from the National Weather Service in Pueblo, rating this tornado an EF-0, meaning winds were less than 85 mph. No damage was reported from this tornado and the rating was estimated based off of videos. An in person survey was not conducted, due to the lack of damage that occurred.
The tornado was brief, lasting less than 5 minutes. These quick, weak tornadoes are quite common in Colorado. Sometimes they are referred to as landspouts.
