State park daily vehicle pass price to increase starting March 1

The Daily Vehicle Park Pass fee for each of Colorado's 41 state parks will increase effective March 1, 2020.

The price of the pass will increase by $1.

This means that a Daily Vehicle Park Pass is now $9 for most parks, $10 for Chatfield, Boyd Lake, and Eldorado Canyon state parks, and $11 for Cherry Creek. Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the $11 price for Cherry Creek is due to the Cherry Creek Water Basin Authority fee. The Annual Park Pass and Commercial Park Pass entrance fees will remain unchanged in 2020.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), the CPW Commission approved the daily vehicle pass fee increase in January of 2020 in order to help the agency manage the rise in property maintenance needs and operational costs associated with the growing number of park visitors.

CPW said the fee increase is a helpful step in protecting our natural resources for future generations and in ensuring appropriated funding and programming for conservation of park lands.
