CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A Colorado Springs mother and Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer survivor received a Subaru from Centennial Auto Finders near Denver Monday thanks to the Butterfly Foundation.
According to a news release, the foundation learned of Stacey Beduhns story when she applied for assistance, including money for repairs on her 1999 Dodge Durango.
Beduhn is a mother of three and her husband was recently laid off. So, the foundation decided it wanted to do more than just help her fix her car.
Butterfly Foundation executive director Sandy Jones reached out to Colorado Auto Finders owner Ali Awada, who offered to donate a 2003 Subaru.
Beduhn traveled to Centennial Monday morning to pick up the vehicle, under the guise of participating in a meeting to discuss her vehicle repair needs.
In addition to the Subaru, which Butterfly says is in excellent condition, Beduhn also received $200 in gas cards and $250 in grocery cards from the foundation.
The Butterfly Foundation describes itself as a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting people who have suffered loss, illness, or other hardship.
