Well above average temperatures and sunshine will dominate Colorado's weekend. This will lead to smooth travel conditions to ski country, but staying snow free for several days.
Since Thursday morning, most ski areas picked up at least 1 inch of snow, which will provide some fresh powder for Friday ski and snowboarding.
The next major snowstorm arrives to the state early Monday, and will persist through Tuesday. Initial forecasts bring a solid 2-6 inches of snow to the high country, with higher totals certainly in the realm of possibility.
Until then, the weekend will be unusually warm, with ski areas warming above freezing by Sunday. 30s and even low 40s will be common high temperatures.
Reminder to apply sunscreen to exposed skin this weekend, with little cloud cover expected!
