No new snow is expected for the first few days in January, but most ski areas saw between half a foot to a foot of snow earlier in the week. Slopes should have packed powder conditions this weekend.
Avalanche danger will be considerable for most of the high country, so check conditions before going into the backcountry.
Temperatures will be chilly and feeling like winter. Most areas will be hanging out in the 20s and 30s for highs all weekend. Winds will likely be breezy through the day Saturday and Sunday.
