The past week has been good for the Colorado high country. Many ski areas received close to a foot of snow or more over the past 7 days. Both Purgatory and Loveland Ski Area announcing this week they have received 100 inches so far this season. This is allowing more terrain to open across the board.

X Games are back at Aspen Friday through Sunday, but spectators are not allowed this year. Most events can be watched on ESPN.

And the forecast for this weekend calls for even more fresh powder. Snow will move into southwest Colorado and the San Juans Friday afternoon, then expand across the high country through the entire day Saturday. This will amount to totals between 3-8 inches for most ski areas by Saturday evening. Sunday will be dry and sunny.

Friday will be windy for most of the Colorado mountains, by Saturday the gusts will be the strongest east of the Continental divide.

Because of the incoming snow, Saturday will be the toughest travel day, with conditions quickly improving Sunday.
