PUEBLO — A Pueblo West student is honoring fallen soldiers on Memorial Day at the Home of Heroes.

15-year old Aaron Valdez played 'Taps' on top of the veteran's bridge at the Pueblo Riverwalk on Monday afternoon.

This is typically where the outdoor Memorial Day ceremony would take place, but the ceremony was turned virtual this year due to COVID-19.

"I'm playing taps to show the veterans the memory of their fallen brothers and sisters and to keep that memory going over and over again," explained Valdez, despite not having an in-person ceremony.

Valdez also did this performance for 'Taps Across America', which is a program where people play 'Taps' in the United States for Memorial Day.
