MANITOU SPRINGS — Permits, emails and similar services provided by the City of Manitou Springs may take longer than normal due to a positive case of COVID-19 among staff that has limited the number of employees available.

The city was notified of the positive case Wednesday and placed members of the City Staff who were in "prolonged contact" for the last two weeks in quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

"Our Police Department and Fire Department are still here to assist our community and perform their duties, as is our Public Works Department in the case of a water break or snow removal from the major roads in Manitou Springs," the city said in a release.

In the event of an emergency, the city said the individuals who were exposed can still be available to perform emergency work "if absolutely necessary."
