ARAPAHOE BASIN SKI AREA — Colorado firefighters took advantage of a beautiful day Friday at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area to take part in the 14th annual Firehose Relay.
A-Basin says 120 people from several fire departments were part of the event to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado Burn Camps.
Teams of five raced down a 15-gate slalom course while holding on to 50 feet of fire hose.
They also had to dress in their bunker jacket and fire helmet.
Some had never been on skis or snowboards before.
Organizers say they expect this year's event to raise $15,000.
