PUEBLO — Colorado Parks and Wildlife hope to know soon if Lake Pueblo Swim Beach will re-open by Wednesday. They are waiting for the results of a water test they did on Monday.

Tuesday the group will do a second test to be on the safe side before making a decision.

The beach closed last week because of high bacteria levels, just before the Fourth of July weekend. Colorado Parks and WIldlife said they don't know the exact reason why this happened, but the recent rain along with the high water level on the Arkansas River could have brought in things that could make the water impure.
