ALAMOSA — The Alamosa School District will be closed Thursday after a possible threat was reported to Safe2Tell.

Alamosa Police tell News5 that the tip came in Wednesday evening and a person was taken into custody a short time later.

The alleged threat was made on social media.

Police did not provide any details early Thursday morning but said they do not believe there is a threat to the community.

Officers said Alamosa Elementary, Ortega Middle and Alamosa High schools are closed as a precaution.

The school district is expected to reopen on Friday.
