Two victims identified in fatal shooting at the Incline Apartment complex in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — Two people are dead following a shooting in Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

Police were called to the Incline Apartment complex on Sinton Road, near I-25 and Fillmore, at around 7:15 p.m. for a shooting. That is where they located a man already dead, and another with a gunshot wound.

The second man was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was later identified as 46-year-old Antonio Bonner, of Colorado Springs.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office identified the man found on the scene as 37-year-old Russell Basham, of Colorado Springs.

Both deaths were ruled a homicide and are the 29th and 30th homicide investigations in the City of Colorado Springs in 2022. At this time last year, there were 21 homicide investigations.

The investigation revealed that the two men got into a verbal argument in the parking lot that escalated until it ended with both men using their firearms.

According to police, there are no outstanding suspects and there is no known danger to the community.
