El Paso County to submit mitigation plan this week or face further restrictions

El Paso County officials announced Friday the county has one week to submit a COVID-19 mitigation plan to the state health department and if it is not approved, the county will see further restrictions. The county's status on the state's COVID-19 dial is at risk due to the rising numbers of COVID-19. As of this morning, El Paso County Health's data states the county has seen 252.5 positive cases per 100,000 people in a two-week period with a 6.24% positivity rate.

Periods of snow, some of it heavy, and dangerous cold linger today

The forecast today and tonight is all about two things: snow and dangerous cold. Snow will be heaviest in the first half of the day, especially in the mountains and areas south of El Paso County. Snow will generally weaken to lighter snow showers and flurries by this evening, with dry skies expected by midnight.

Senate Republicans expected to complete SCOTUS confirmation process for Amy Coney Barrett on Monday

With just eight days until election day and despite attempts at parliamentary roadblocks by Democrats, Senate Republicans are expected to easily confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, the Senate voted 51-48 to advance Barrett's confirmation, which opened a final 30 hours of Senate debate.
