City’s first dedicated downhill mountain bike trails opens in Ute Valley Park

The City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department officially opened its first dedicated downhill mountain bike trails. The new trails are part of several recent improvements in the park.

A powerful winter storm will be moving through Colorado tonight into Thursday morning. This storm is going to pack gusty winds, cold air, and very heavy snowfall across the mountains and elevations over 6,000 feet.

CDOT nears completion of 'wrong way' signs project on I-25

The Colorado Department of Transportation is nearing the end of its "Wrong Way" Prevention project that aimed to install or replace 2,500 wrong way signs. The project focuses on 77 different on-off ramps along I-25 and will cost $2.1 million at its completion.

City Council passes ordinance requiring bear-proof trash cans

This ordinance will require residents west of I-25 to get bear-proof containers, keep trash or perishable waste inside, and limit times when trash is put out. This will take effect in March of next year.

New grocery store coming to downtown Colorado Springs

The area, currently somewhat of a food desert, will soon have a grocery store. The closest ones nearby like the Safeway's on Nevada and Wahsatch or the Natural Grocers are still at least one to three miles away from downtown.
