PUEBLO – Pueblo police are inviting the community to come together to donate blood in honor of injured officer Jonathan Bell.

Bell was shot multiple times, badly injured in both of his legs last month in a shootout with an armed suspect.

The department invites anyone who wants to help donate blood, and potentially save a life, to join them Monday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 S. Main, next to the police department.

Organizers ask participants to make an appointment beforehand to limit wait times. You can do that online by clicking here or you can call 800-365-0006 and select option 2.

Anyone who would like to offer messages of recovery to Officer Bell is also welcome to bring cards or gifts to the station for delivery.
