Pueblo groups working to “Make Pueblo Healthy Again”

PUEBLO – Groups in The Steel City are working to “Make Pueblo Healthy Again.”

The push coming as new numbers are revealing Pueblo County is above the Colorado State average for obesity among kids and adults.

Now, the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Enviorment is teaming with several businesses and groups to fight the issue.

Director of Public Health Randy Evetts telling News5 his department is working with other community entities to bring healthy improvements to the region, “We are working with city and community planners on things like walking and bike trails.”

Evetts adds one example of the improvements is in Pueblo West where crews recently built a new walking trail between the high school, connecting it
