COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs inviting all nature lovers to take part in a photo contest.

The Springs and 160 other cities will take part in the “City Nature Challenge” to help naturalists and scientists document plants, animals and fungi throughout the world.

They’re making it a competition among the cities.

“The city that has the most observations at the end of the four day period wins. Mainly you win pride, but you’re also helping scientists around the globe to urban wildlife studies,” ranger Jillian Rossi said.

The period runs April 26th through the 29th.

To take part just download the I-Naturalist app on your phone and then send your photos.

More than 25,000 people are expected to participate and they’re expecting people to submit around 750,000 photos and other observations.
