State Patrol investigating rollover crash on Gold Camp Road

PIKE NATIONAL FOREST – Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on Gold Camp Road in the Pike National Forest, west of Colorado Springs.

The crash happened at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, April 19th.

According to State Patrol, 28-year-old Kiefer Tomlinson, of Colorado Springs, was driving a Jeep Wrangler northbound on Gold Camp Rd. when he lost control and drove off the side of the road. The Jeep rolled multiple times and came to rest a the bottom of a canyon.

State Patrol said that Tomlinson and his passenger, 40-year-old Jason Reel, of Colorado Springs, were transported to Memorial Central Hospital. Tomlinson suffered moderate injuries, while Reel’s injuries were serious. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to State Patrol.

Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash and charges for Tomlinson are pending, according to State Patrol.
