PUEBLO – Police officers have arrested a man they say is behind threats to St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo Thursday.

Shayne King, 35, is accused of making verbal threats toward staff at the hospital. He faces extortion charges, as well as charges of cultivation of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Thursday morning employees at St. Mary-Corwin called police to report receiving a threating phone call.

The hospital said it took immediate precautionary measures, including activating a controlled access system at the hospital and clinics.
