Dignified transfer for fallen Fort Carson soldier

COLORADO SPRINGS – Sgt. 1st Class Will Lindsay was honored Wednesday during a dignified transfer from Peterson Air Force Base to Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs Police Department, Patriot Riders, and others took part in the procession with the fallen hero’s family

Lindsay died on March 22 as a result of wounds sustained during combat operations while serving in Afghanistan.

The Fort Carson soldier was from Cortez, Colorado and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Governor Polis ordered all U.S. and Colorado flags to fly at half-staff statewide from sunrise on Wednesday until sunset on Tuesday, April 9 when a private memorial service will be held.
