Three teens arrested for attempted first degree burglary in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY – Three juveniles have been arrested in connection to attempted burglaries in El Paso County.

Around 4 a.m. on Monday, April 1st, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a juvenile male attempting to break into a residence in the 2000 block of Rocklin Dr. The teen was wearing a black bandanna around his face and carrying a gun.

The residence has a home security system that captured video of the incident.

The video showed the teen checking the door to see if it was locked. He heard a dog barking and left on foot with two other individuals who were waiting by the street.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived on scene and canvassed the area. Around 7:30 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received another call in reference to three juveniles who tried to break into a home in the area of Constitution and Piros. The Sherriff’s Office said this incident was also captured on surveillance video.

Working with the Colorado Springs Police Department, Sheriff’s Office deputies identified the suspects and all three have been arrested for attempted first-degree burglary.

The Sheriff’s Office said that since the suspects are juveniles, no additional information will be released.
