DENVER – A bill that would open up law enforcement internal affairs records to the public has passed the Colorado State Legislature.

The bill now heads to Governor Polis’ desk.

If the bill becomes law, law enforcement completed internal affairs records will be open to the public from that day forward.

Governor Polis now has to decide whether to veto the bill or sign it into law within the next week.
