HUERFANO COUNTY – The family of a woman murdered in 2018 in Walsenburg has filed a civil suit against the father and son accused of her murder.
Adriana Garcia, a relative of 41-year-old Amy Garcia filed the suit against Heith Gleason and his 12-year-old son on March 20th. The court filing does not specify what damages the family is seeking Garcia’s death.
Garcia, a mother of four, was found shot to death in a burned car west of Walsenburg in December.
Gleason and his son were arrested December 20th in New Mexico, then transported to Huerfano County.
Heith Gleason’s criminal case is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 18.
A review hearing for the civil case is scheduled for May 3.
