PUEBLO – The city of Pueblo is putting its two cents in regarding the city and county’s main animal service being under investigation.

The state is looking into Community Animal Services of Pueblo, which is run by Paws for Life.

At this time, it is unknown what the state is investigating.

The City Council President said he wants to see all the facts before making a judgment against the animal group.

“At this point, we need to find out what those deficiencies are and if Paws can rectify, said City Council President, Dennis Flores. “I think we will be fine if they can’t. You know there are provisions in our contract that will clarify some of the things we can do.”

The shelter remains open for now.

Paws for Life took over animal services at the beginning of the year.
