BRECKENRIDGE – A power outage in Summit County knocked out power to thousands including Breckenridge and Keystone resorts Friday morning.
Xcel Energy reported the outage around 7:18 a.m. Friday. As of noon, the company said more than 3,700 residents are affected in the Breckenridge area. The company said it is due to an issue with natural gas pressure.
Xcel has not detected any gas leaks at this time. There is a loss of pressure in the system, and Xcel is working to isolate the location and identify the cause. @XcelEnergyCO #SumCO

Breckenridge tweeted at 11:20 a.m. that the resort has partially reopened, and some of the lifts there are spinning. Keystone is partially open as well as of noon Friday.
Authorities recommend that anyone planning on visiting Summit County this weekend should check to see if the business or hotel is open due to the power outage. Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Keystone and Dillon are all experiencing issues from the outage.
