PUEBLO – Just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning, a citizen called Pueblo Police to report he was following a vehicle down I-25 that was driving on three tires and a rim and throwing sparks everywhere.
The car driving on the rim then exited the highway and the man who called stopped following.
Pueblo Police said the car was found a short time later in an alley off Jones Ave.
When officers located the vehicle, the driver was still behind the wheel with the vehicle running. According to Pueblo PD, the driver explained he had recently purchased the vehicle and one of the tires was defective.
The driver said he was returning to where he bought the vehicle to get a new tire.
The driver was then arrested for DUI.
No further information has been released at this time.
