PUEBLO – Health officials in Pueblo want to help businesses that handle food met an upcoming state deadline.

The state made it mandatory for food facilities to have a Food Production Manager by July 1, 2019. The Pueblo Department of Health and Environment is offering classes to meet that requirement.

“You know what is important about this is that the FDA has found that when facilities have a manager or a food safety management safety system in place there has been a reduction in the amount of violations,” said Environmental Health Specialist Josh Gallegos.

The next class is on Monday, Jan. 28. For more information visit the department, or call  call the department at 719-583-4300.
