COLORADO – With lots of snow today in the mountains, the avalanche danger in parts of Colorado has been upgraded ahead of a storm expected to hit the western part of the state later this week.
An avalanche warning is in effect right now for parts of the San Juan Mountain, Grand Mesa, Aspen, and Gunnison zones.
Backcountry travel is not recommended at this time.
The current warning is in effect until Thursday morning.
