PUEBLO – Around 11 p.m. Friday night, a Pueblo Police officer working his first shift as a solo officer responded to the Loaf ‘n Jug at 18th and Lambert.

Pueblo P.D. said the call was for a man with a knife.

The man reportedly told the store clerk that “if the cops don’t get here fast, something bad’s going to happen!”

The officer, identified as Brandon Victor, controlled the scene and held the “disturbed” man at gunpoint until additional officers arrived.

Pueblo P.D. said the man with the knife believed people were stalking him and wanted to kill him.

The man was taken to a local hospital to receive an evaluation.
