EL PASO COUNTY- The State of the Region address was given by El Paso County Commission President Darryl Glenn Thursday, Dec. 13.
It happened at the annual Springs Chamber, EDC luncheon.
Glenn said the County has made great strides in transparency, services and efficiency.
He said despite today’s political climate, issues can still be solved.
“We are in a place in life where we are fighting and there’s tension and we have to be better. We have to be willing to hold ourselves and accountable and strive for excellence,” Glenn siad.
He said some issues the county is facing are fixing roads, crime and dealing with major growth.
Term-limited coroner Robert Bux was awarded the 2018 State of the Region Lifetime Achievement Award for his long and dedicated service to the county.
Commissioner Glenn is concluding his eighth year in office. He expressed gratitude for the county’s community partners and for the opportunity to serve the public.
