COLORADO SPRINGS – Penrose Elementary kindergartners learning a valuable lesson about giving.
“Kindness can begin with them even though they’re five and six years old,” said their teacher Karen Evers.
The students gathered water and socks to donate to the Springs Rescue Mission. This was no lesson plan, it was the kids themselves that came up with the idea, but there is still something that can be learned.
“They can make a difference as well,” Evers said. “And that things at school can tie into other places.”
